Women are encouraged to apply for the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences – Next Einstein Initiative (AIMS-NEI) which launched the Mathematical Sciences for Climate Change Resilience (MS4CR) program in August 2017 with support from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).
The goal of the MS4CR program at AIMS is to increase the contribution of African mathematical scientists to finding solutions to climate change-related challenges in Africa through training, research, and internships. AIMS-NEI will be providing 100 internships in the field of climate change for promising AIMS students and alumni.
AIMS-NEI will contribute to a monthly stipend for all interns. Additional costs of hosting the intern, including internal supervision and mentoring, facilities, and project expenses will be borne by the host institution.
Internships may be hosted by any institution with interest in climate change resilience. The host institution is expected to have an interest to partner with AIMS-NEI as part of the MS4CR program and provide at least one intern with high-quality work experience.
The deadline for applications is January 20, 2020.
