Internship / Entry-Level Technician Full-time Position at Clusta Genomics, Lagos.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Molecular Biology Intern or Technician to support ongoing research and development activities. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced scientists and technicians to perform routine molecular biology techniques and assist in maintaining lab operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced research environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to:
  • DNA/RNA extraction and quantification
  • PCR and qPCR
  • Gel electrophoresis
  • DNA library prep
  • Primer design and testing
  • Genome sequencing
• Assist in reagent preparation, buffer formulation, and inventory management
• Maintain accurate lab notebooks and documentation in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting under supervision
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Support routine equipment maintenance and calibration
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily lab operations

Qualifications:

Required:

• Recently completed a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field
• Basic understanding of molecular biology principles and techniques
• Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

• Prior hands-on experience in a laboratory setting
• Familiarity with lab safety practices and regulatory compliance (e.g., biosafety, chemical hygiene)

Experience with software for data entry or analysis (e.g., Excel, GraphPad, or lab-specific software)
