Epidemic Preparedness and Response Fellowship at MRC The Gambia

We (Medical Research Council Unit The Gambia at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine) invite you to apply to the Epidemic Preparedness and Response Fellowship, an opportunity to study and work in an environment that supports leadership development and networking among scientists across Africa.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow with a passion for infectious disease research and the drive to make an impact in epidemic preparedness and response. If you are enthusiastic about contributing to public health and global epidemic response, this is for you.

The fellowship offers:
Annual stipend (£25,000)
£25,000 annual research budget
Accommodation, airfare, and school fee contributions (if displaced)
Relocation and visa support for international fellows

Applicants must be:
– Nationals of Sub-Saharan Africa with a PhD completed within the last 3 years (or by September 2025)
– Highly motivated with a demonstrated interest in infectious disease epidemics
– Proposing a feasible research project that can improve epidemic preparedness and response in LMICs
